"Still Listening" is a reference to the Cold War featuring the now abandoned spy station on Berlin's Teufelsberg hill. It was operated by the NSA from 1961 until the fall of the Berlin Wall to eavesdrop on Russian and East German communications. We had a cabin in the woods surrounding the spy station and I have many memories of walking up the hill as far as the American and British soldiers would allow at the time. Now a ruin where artists have created one of the largest displays of graffiti all over the walls of the buildings as well as the radomes seen in my painting it is a popular site for film and music videos. The piece was painted using a variety of pastels over a watercolor and acrylic ink underpainting on UArt sanded paper.
