Faded Glory is painted on black Gatorboard pumiced with untinted Golden Fine Pumice Gel. She is a painting of an agave that had flowered, died and become desiccated. I came across this specimen in the Fort Davis mountains of Texas. I was absolutely enthralled with the way the sunlight shone through and on the desiccated leaves. I consider the final stage of agave bloom to be really glorious. In this case, she was no less glorious, just faded.
