This piece was the result of a random placement of a used cereal bowl on a table with apples and table runner. I was struck by the contrast in muted colors of green versus the intense apples and the varied surface textures of the ceramic, fruit and woven textile. The piece was rendered mainly from close observation. I then then finished the piece apart from observation by intensifying and muting the colors with layering.
