Lake Tahoe in the Sun

The medium is pastel (entirely). I want to pay tribute to the beautiful natural places and gifts of our Earth, as they seem to be ebbing away during this time of human insensitivity and climate change. I am often and deeply inspired by the pristine, jeweled waters of Lake Tahoe. In this case I was especially interested in the interplay of light and reflection above and below the surface of the waters not too far from the shore. I also wanted to show the gigantic, somewhat figurative boulders, both above and below the surface, and to indicate their place of origin, the mountains, in the background.
