This 2021 Pastel is based on a photo by Angela Nicholson with her permission. I had never attempted mountains in a landscape and was challenged by these beauties. I am also working a lot with clouds and reflections in an effort to understand them and gain more control while staying loose. I began with Pan Pastels to block in the darks and lights over my initial sketch with hard pastels on a cream colored Lux Archival paper. I used soft pastels to complete the image.
