I work mostly in miniature landscape where expression is somewhat confined relating to the space, so when I work in a larger format I find that the suppressed emotion bursts forth in unpredictable and (best of all) intuitive ways. I’ve learned to trust that feeling instead of backing up and questioning why I made such a bold mark.
