This painting is from a photo I took in front of Lava Lava Restaurant on the Big Island. The sunsets are never the same so it gives me unless inspiration. I used pan pastels for my under painting and after the detail was done with soft pastels I added some fine lines with pastel pencils or Nupastel which I then smudged to continue the softer look. Adding brightness to the darks with color and softening my edges was new for me.
